Regulation on life-cycle GWP and limit values for the climate impact of buildings

The Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning (Boverket) has submitted legislative proposals to the Government on implementation of EU requirements for the calculation and reporting of life-cycle GWP for new buildings. There are also legislative proposals on limit values for the climate impact from new buildings.  

Reporting of the buildings lifecycle-GWP will be required by 1 January 2028 for buildings more than 1,000 square metres and by 1 January 2030 for all new buildings. Under the EPBD, limit values for greenhouse gas emissions from new buildings shall also be introduced by 1 January 2030.  

The report is divided into two parts. Part 1 include the legislative proposal, technical and methodological rationale and considerations relating to life-cycle GWP, limit value levels and system boundaries, with references to the annexes in Part 2.
