Processing of personal data (GDPR)

The Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning (Boverket) is responsible for the processing of personal data for which the authority determines the purpose and means. Personal data is processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). GDPR regulates processing of personal data

The regulation is intended to strengthen the protection of private persons when personal data is processed. All processing of personal data must follow the fundamental principles in GDPR. This means, among other things, that you need to follow the fundamental principles, ensure that the processing has a lawful ground and inform the data subjects about how you handle their personal data.

Our data protection officer

Boverket has a data protection officer who

  • reports directly to the Director General
  • is mandated to work independently without instructions
  • has good knowledge of the authority's processes, information systems and data protection needs
  • has several years of work experience in data protection issues at government agencies
  • knows the authority's administrative routines and procedures
  • informs and advises Boverket's management and employees on issues regarding the authority's compliance with the Data Protection Regulation
  • monitors the authority's compliance with regulations – such as Data Protection Regulation, other applicable legislation and internal instructions – that apply to the processing of personal data.
