The Planning and Building Act and the Planning and Building Ordinance

The Planning and Building Act, PBL, and the Planning and Building Ordinance, PBF, contains provisions on the planning of land and water areas, and on construction.

The purpose of the provisions is, with regard to the freedom of the individual, to promote societal progress with equal and proper living conditions and a clean and sustainable habitat, for people in today's society and for future generations.

The legally binding text is found in the Swedish Code of Statutes (www.riksdagen.se). Please note that both the act and ordinance are often updated.
