Nordic central government authorities co-operate
In autumn 2020 Norway will be hosting two annual Nordic authority meetings: one on town and country planning and another on building construction. Mitigation of – and necessary adaption to – the climate change, as well as digitalization, are among the questions we expect on the agenda. But already in spring, the responsible Norwegian ministry will be visiting Boverket to learn more on our how we in Sweden are implementing the governmental mission on architecture.
Within the Nordic co-operation on housing, Denmark will arrange the annual authority meeting in September. Boverket will study how they in Denmark work to improve quality of exposed housing communities.
Nordic council of ministers
In October 2019, the Nordic ministers responsible for housing and building construction met in Reykjavik. The secretariat was asked to look into how a monitoring committe could enhance the harmonization of building regulations between the Nordic countries.
Boverket is also partner in two urban projects initiatied by the Nordic Council of Ministers: ”Development of Small and Medium-seized Towns” and ”Green and Sustainable Cities”.
