Nordic Co-operation

The Nordic countries have a long tradition to co-operate within the fields of housing, building and town and country planning.

Lately the exchange of information has become intense within subjects as digitalisation and building regulations regarding accessibility (universal design). Nordic colleagues meet in thematic working groups. It supports our shared know-how as well as harmonisation. Within other specific themes, task-oriented colleagues from the other Nordic countries may
visit us, and we them, to experience good practice.

Major meetings are held once annually within each of the three working fields: housing, building and planning. This year, Boverket is arranging the major meeting where all Nordic authorities responsible for national building regulations will take part. This meeting will be held in August in Uppsala. The County Administrative Board will take part as well, bringing a regional perspective on the topics. Affordable housing will be put in focus, in this
meeting as well as when the Nordic housing authorities meet in September.
