Housing for new arrivals

It is very difficult for new arrivals to get a residence in many municipalities.
The Swedish Migration Agency say
that the number of refugees is increasing
and that there are long waiting durations for getting a residence.
This means that it will continue to be difficult for them to get a residence.

In this year's housing market survey, 272 municipalities say that they have too few residences for new arrivals.
Small municipalities can mainly provide residences to new arrivals.
People who have received a residence permit can ask for help to get a residence in Sweden.
The Swedish Migration Agency manages this together with municipalities.
