Personal safety and child safety

Buildings and sites should be built so that the risk of accidents and personal injuries is as small as possible.
Safety for children is particularly important.

In Boverket's Building Regulations, BBR, section 8, you can find rules for personal safety and special child safety provisions.

The home should be a child's safest place, but that is where more than half of children's accidents take place.

Children are particularly vulnerable as they are so small.
They have neither learnt to use their body properly.
They also find it difficult to understand.

Child safety provisions have been a part of Swedish building rules since 1973 and are important for reducing injuries and fatalities among children.
