Energy performance
Swedish Laws and Regulations are implementing the 2002/91/EG Directive on the energy performance of buildings. The overall purposes of the directive are to decrease the European need to import energy and to decrease the carbon dioxide emission from buildings.

Building Regulations and Energy Efficiency
The National Board of Housing, Building and Planning is continuously modifying the limits of allowed energy use in new buildings, in particular new buildings that use electricity as source for heating or cooling.
